Description

This is a receive-only active electronically scanned array (AESA) covering 2 to 6 GHz with full instantaneous bandwidth coverage. The beam is steerable to three switched elevation positions, and can sweep the azimuth across a full +/-60° range with sub-degree accuracy; steering in both directions is time-delay based, preventing squint across the frequency range. The array provides 20 dB of gain at 2 GHz and 27 dB of gain at 6 GHz, and has switchable sum and difference output capability. The system weighs approximately 70 lbs and includes power conditioning, cooling fans, and a system controller in addition to the antenna and active RF components. This system is qualified to appropriate sections of DO-160, MIL-STD-810, MIL-STD-704, and MIL-STD-461 for airborne applications.
